My dad is playing GT Legends right now! It has the original Shelby Cobra, his all time favorite car.īy all means bear me in mind for the future, if you have any more queries. That Wii example you've found thus far is one of these awful examples. I'd thoroughly recommend you avoid some of those less well-known games, even if they have titles that may allude to being closer to what you want - the handling on them is generally dreadful and unrealistic.

Although it's an older game it has a wide variety of racing styles available and is still holds up with excellent handling and characteristics.īoth RFactor and TOCA Race Driver 3 have the possibility for you to jump in and race with default setups being good, but if so inclined can dig into the minutae such as bump/rebound settings, etc.

Tracks are available in abundance, especially classic tracks such as the full Monza circuit, Nurburgring, Bathurst, and even the Mille Miglia.Īlso, if this isn't enough for you, I'd recommend you track down a copy of Codemasters' "TOCA Race Driver 3" for the PC (it has slightly different title depending on where you are in the world - in Germany it's "DTM Race Driver" and Australia "V8 Supercar Driver").

The GP79 mod for Rfactor is brilliant, as are the 60s F1 cars, but you'll find production car racing that you're interested in well represented too.

The mods are easy to track down and install (just Google for some of the websites that specialise in these mods - they also have great communities to race with too). However, for sheer versatility due to the the astonishing number of mods, I THOROUGHLY recommend RFactor (which isn't on Steam, to my knowledge). GT Legends is your best bet on Steam as an all-in-one package. It currently holds a score of 35% on GameRankings, in respective to the Wii version.I'm a big racing fan (also from this era), and used to write the racing guides for the Official Playstation Magazine. The PlayStation 2 version also received negative reviews. Kondolojy gave the game a 2.5/5, and stated it was "best to Leave the British Classics in the Past.". IGN gave the Wii version a 2.1 out of ten and criticised the gameplay problems, awful graphics, and for only having one song that loops. The Wii version currently holds a score of 35.50%. Like many Data Design Interactive games, the Wii version received negative reviews from critics. The Engine was developed to produce the game for multiple systems.

Like all games developed by Data Design, it was created using the 'Game Orientated Development System' (or G.O.D.S.) engine. The developer licensed 13 classic British cars, and 6 tracks from the British Isles. The first titles from the Bold Games/DDI partnership were scheduled to be in stores by the end of the year 2007.

Stewart Green, president of Data Design Interactive, was very pleased to be working with Bold Games, and was happy to have their "titles as the starting point for its entry into this exciting market sector.". Paul Rinde, CEO of Bold Games parent company Destineer, said that he was thrilled to be working with Data Design Interactive as their entry into the Wii casual games market. Minneapolis-based publisher/developer Bold Games partnered with England's Data Design Interactive to distribute and publish ten casual Wii titles, with Classic British Motor Racing as one of them. To unlock tracks, players must win tracks to unlock the locked tracks in the game, which players also can unlock other Cars too. While racing, players tilt the Wii Remote to steer their car and hold the 2 button to accelerate, or the 1 button to go backwards. The game only runs on 480i and up to two players can race in the game. Classic British Motor Racing is a racing game where players pick from a host of classic British vehicles and drive around famous areas of Britain, which can be played in 3 difficulties, Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert.
